Tour Highlights

Through years of experience, The Adventure Company has combined the best activities available in the Daintree National Park into a fun adventure packed tour. So now you can see all the amazing sights of this world heritage area in one day without rushing from place to place.

Cairns to Port Douglas Scenic Drive - Cook Highway
The scenic drive to Port Douglas is an experience in itself, winding along the coastline, you will get an appreciation of the diverse environments here in the North.

Port Douglas
Located 1,780km north of Brisbane and 70km north of Cairns, Port Douglas is a resort village situated between Cairns and the World Heritage-listed rainforests of the Daintree and Cape Tribulation.

Mossman Gorge
A visit to the World Heritage listed rainforest environment of Mossman Gorge in Northern Queensland is a must during any time spent in Australia.

Daintree River Ferry
The Daintree River Ferry, 50km north of Port Douglas, is the only way to cross the river. It operates on a cable system and is capable of taking up to 16 vehicles across the river at a time. This is the only cable ferry operating in a World Heritage area in the world.

Alexandra Lookout - Daintree National Park
A gorgeous view back over the Daintree Rainforest and the mouth of the Daintree River, and out across the Coral Sea you can see the inner reefs of the Great Barrier Reef.

Cape Tribulation Beach
Cape Tribulation's history starts 120 million years ago when the giant continent 'Gondwana' was covered in dense rainforests and dinosaurs roamed around the jungle.

Daintree River Cruise - Crocodile Express
The tour runs through the saltwater mangrove and rainforest habitat in the lower Daintree River or the freshwater pasture lands and rainforest upstream from the Daintree Village.

Rex Lookout - Cook Highway
The lookout offers an unforgettably stunning vista across the Coral Sea and coastal landscape, a chance to see the full splendour of the Great Barrier Reef. On weekends, hang gliders use the lookout as a Launchpad.

I am in Australia on my own visiting family and wanted to do at least one touristy thing whilst I was here and I’m so glad I chose this one .
I wasn’t the only ‘flying solo ‘ person which made me feel a bit less like ‘billy no mates ‘ lol.
Matthew was our guide and he was full of life and so informative - I honestly learnt so much during the day but interesting stuff rather than mundane stuff, it was great to hear passion in his voice when he was describing things .
We had plenty of stops along the way and there was nothing too strenuous except for a boardwalk through the rain forest( a few steps involved ).
Lunch was a Bbque next to rescued wallabies which actually was well organised and surprisingly good .
I would really recommend this trip and trust me I’m hard to please!!!
My only slight gripe was a mix up with pick up times and I was waiting for half an hour but no big deal and it didn’t spoil my day at all!!
Hope u do this tour and I hope u enjoy it as much as I did . X

Booked with #downundercruiseanddive and was picked up around 8.30am with Joe our driver for the day, 1st stop was Mossman gorge where we had a 40 minute walk through the rain forest with plenty of points of interest, followed by tea and scones.
Back on the bur to the river where we had an hour or so tour down with a guide seeing plenty of wildlife and crocodiles
Then up into Daintree for bbq lunch before heading to Cape Tribulation and a walk on the beach
Finally a stop at the Home made ice cream parlour where we were given 4 different samples of ice cream and sorbet before arriving back at Mandalay apartments around 5.45pm
Over all a very good trip I would recommend

We came away quite content with our day and the terrain that was covered as part of it. Luke drove us around and he was very knowledgeable about the area and the fauna and flora we got to see. Since it’s a lot of stuff packed into one day, staying on schedule is critical and for folks on vacation mode that’s a bit of a challenge. Luke managed well and I don’t envy his job trying to keep people on track. Adding Cape Tribulation for what’s basically just lunch may be left off to make it a more leisurely visit. We would have loved more time at the animal sanctuary (seeing a cassowary, holding a koala, and feeding the kangaroos were big highlights of our entire trip) or at Daintree instead.

This was a great tour to see a lot of the beautiful features of FNQ. A highlight of the Wildlife Habitat was feeding the wallabies and kangaroos. Mossman Gorge, the Daintree and the beach at Cape Tribulation well deserved their reputation. Finishing off the tour searching the Daintree River for crocodiles was a safe way to see an amazing creature. Daniel our tour guide was always helpful, knowledgeable and engaging. A long day but a great day.

Excellent rain forest experience

Brilliant experience in rain forest country! The zipline was only 5 stations long, but overall compared to the 8 station zip in Otways national park in Victoria! Too good to be missed.

Gavin was the tour guide and he had a wealth of information. Very organised and allowed plenty of time at each stop for photos even though there were 25 of us on the tour. Mossman gorge had a boardwalk so that there is no excuse not to see. Plenty of sightseeing lookouts ver Barron falls. Lunch at the beach house and a walk along the beach afterwards, enjoying the beautiful coastline and sunshine. A stop at the ice cream shop then to a lookout on the way home topped of the day.

I highly recommend bringing a pair of binoculars for the river cruise component of the day - it was really cool to see birds and crocodiles in person, and even cooler to have a clear detailed view through quality binoculars. The river cruise guide was funny and clearly was familiar with the surroundings and even the specific crocodiles we saw. The rest of the day was fun and very stunning as well - I fell asleep on the long drive up the mountain but the bus driver gave a lot of information on the way which I’m kind of sad I missed. Lunch was incredible.

Great tour with a knowledgeable guide! Spent a good amount of time at the wildlife sanctuary where there’s lots to see. Then went for a walk through Mossman gorge - you only have time to get to the suspension bridge and a quick ten minute dip in the gorge, but if youre like me and don’t want to hike that’s perfectly fine (and I wouldn’t have lasted in the cold water for longer anyway). Then it’s cape tribulation for lunch - it’s a long drive but we stopped at a lookout on the way. It started to get cold up near cape tribulation so pack a hoodie or thick cardigan!

A lot of time in the bus but it’s a nice scenic view. Long drive and jampacked but worth the long day.

The tour was great. We went to the Mossman Gorge, the Wildlife Habitat, Daintree River Wildlife Cruise, and lunch at Cape Tribulation Beach House. Our guide picked us up as scheduled. The went according to plan. The guide was knowledgeable and friendly. I recommend this tour for a good overview of the Cape Tribulation/Daintree area. Actual travel was April 2018
